Dear Brothers,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s that time of year again. Big Woods Bible Church is preparing for our annual Men’s Retreat! You and the men of your church are invited for a time of spiritual renewal focused on deepening our prayer lives.

The title of this year’s retreat is “Get on Your Knees and Fight like a Man.” Pastor Tom Seaman, senior pastor of Cedar Heights Brethren in Christ Church, will be our featured speaker.

The retreat will include:
  • Teaching through motivating sessions.
  • Testimonies of how the Lord is at work.
  • Fellowship with other attendees.

The Retreat will be held January 22nd and 23rd at His Thousand Hills, in Wellsboro, PA. Please note that this year’s retreat will be offered at a reduced cost of $50.00 and scholarships may be available.

The session topics will focus on prayer and developing intimacy with God. This is an excellent time for men to grow closer to one another as they deepen their relationships with the Lord.

This year we will be using the book written by Bill Hybels entitled “Too Busy Not to Pray.” It would be to your advantage to read the book before you come to the retreat. You will then have a good idea which chapters most apply to your life for Bible study. Titles for some of our Bible discussion groups include:
  • Praying Authentically - Nehemiah 1: 5-11
  • A Pattern for Prayer - Luke 11:1-10
  • Meeting the Mountain Mover - Acts 4:23-31
  • Slowing Down to Pray - Psalm 131
  • Tuning in to God's Voice - Luke 10:38-42
  • Living in God's Presence - John 15: 1-8
The book may be purchased on-line or at any Christian book store. ( click here to review price at Amazon)

This year, we are handling all individual registrations through our website. However, if you have a group of men from your church attending you may, if you prefer, use our church registration form; for a copy of the form or if you have any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail at khall@lhup.edu   or by phone at (570)748-2188.

Take care,
